What does Machine Weft mean?
A weft is a sheet or curtain of hair strands bound together at the top. Bundles of hair are secured by a machine for optimal precision, then trimmed to size.
What is Remy hair?
Remy (otherwise known as cuticle or raw) hair is 100 percent pure cuticle-correct human hair. This is the highest quality human hair on the market because cuticles run in the same direction. Remy hair arrives tangle-free and is shown to be longer lasting than any other hair extension product.
What is virgin hair?
Women who care about quality and results use Virgin Indian Remy hair because it’s the absolute best quality sold on the market today. Virgin Indian Remy hair extensions come from one sole donor and are carefully sewn with precision in the same direction hair naturally flows. Virgin Indian Remy hair extensions also leave the cuticle intact.
What makes Indian Remy hair from Natural Strands better than the human hair sold at beauty supply shops?
Most human hair sold through beauty supply shops or other sources is non-cuticle hair. This means that the cuticle has been stripped with an acid-bath and typically commingled with animal hair, synthetic fibers or fabric. Non-Remy hair is also coated in silicone which can lose its sheen after several washes. Finally, when hair is not cuticle-correct, users suffer from extensive matting, tangles and shedding.
How long should Remy Hair last?
Product longevity and reuse patterns are a personal preference and vary significantly among users. At Natural Strands, we’ve found that most of our Remy extension users enjoy a full three months of initial use, followed by a take down and up to two more hair applications before they’re required to buy new hair. High-quality Remy hair lasts much longer than non-Remy products.
How much hair will I need?
A full head application typically requires two packs, with any leftover hair easily used later. If you’re using hair longer than 18 inches, you may require three packs, while one pack is sufficient for slight hair lengthening.
Can I color or highlight Natural Strands hair extensions?
Absolutely, not only can you color Natural Strands hair extensions, but you can also blow dry, relax or flat iron to get the precise look you need. Treat Natural Strands hair just as you would your own.
How should I care for my Indian Remy hair?
To care for your Natural Strands Indian Remy hair, commit to a regular beauty regimen that includes a rich moisturizing shampoo and conditioner designed for dry hair. Carefully detangle and comb strands before shampooing, gently applying in one direction. When combing hair, always support your weft, fusion or braid attachment. Each night, wrap your hair in a comfortable net, scarf or silk bonnet to sleep. Never sleep with wet hair, pile hair atop your head when washing or use excessive conditioner on the attachment.
Will I damage my own natural hair by using hair extensions?
When applied property, hair extensions do not damage your own natural hair underneath. In most cases, hair extensions actually improve satisfaction with one’s own hair, as it allows for ample time to grow without the frustration of waiting.
Do extensions hurt?
No, extensions do not hurt. They’re applied securely and are extremely comfortable – no pinching, pulling or pain involved. It may take two to three days to acclimate to the feel of hair extensions. But, in little time, you’ll forget you’re wearing them.
Will people know that I have hair extensions?
When properly and professionally applied, hair extensions blend seamlessly into your natural hair. So nobody will even know you have them.
Can I swim with extensions?
Absolutely! When swimming at the beach or in a sauna, lake or pool, we recommend taking a few simple precautions. First, wet hair thoroughly with tap water before entering salt or chlorine water, as both soak deeper into dry hair than they do wet. Swimming caps will not protect your new hair in the water, but instead can cause severe matting. Avoid covering hair when immersed. The sun’s heat does help conditioner better penetrate your hair. So we recommend applying a leave-in conditioner prior to sun exposure. Finally, brush and braid hair before swimming in salt, chlorine or fresh water to prevent matting and tangles.
